A good number of Nigerian foreign-born footballers are eagerly awaiting the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to invite them to play for the senior national teams (Super Eagles and Super Falcons).

Over the years, the NFF has had to travel to Europe to beg Nigerian foreign-born footballers to play for the national teams, but that trend is gradually changing in the country’s favor.

There are at least seven established superstar footballers who have reportedly shown interest in switching their allegiance to Nigeria if the NFF is willing to give them an invite.

Below are the top Nigerian foreign-born footballers waiting to be invited by the NFF:

1. Tosin Adarabioyo, 27, center back, currently playing for Chelsea, expressed his desire to play for the Super Eagles in a recent report.

2. Chuba Akpom, 29, forward at Ajax, confirmed his interest in representing Nigeria during an interview with BBC Sport.

3. Brooke Nunn, 31, a midfielder at Central Coast Mariners, expressed her passion for joining the Super Falcons due to her Nigerian heritage from her mother.

4. German Onugkha, 28, forward at Copenhagen, is open to representing Nigeria after rejecting a call-up to the Russian national team.

5. Praise Adebo, 21, forward at Stenhousemuir FC, dreams of representing Nigeria internationally.

6. Justin Njinmah, 23, forward at Werder Bremen, dreams of playing alongside Victor Osimhen in the Super Eagles attack.

7. David Stockbrink, 16, forward at Monchengladbach Academy, is determined to play for Nigeria and is motivated by his mother’s pride in representing Nigeria.
