A defensive midfielder in Nigeria’s under-20 national team, Mohammed Ibrahim was short of words and struggled to describe his feelings after he and his colleagues won the WAFU B qualifiers in Lome, Togo.

Ibrahim told Sports247 minutes after helping the Flying Eagles defeat the Black Satellites of Ghana 2-1 in Wednesday’s final that he felt highly honored being part of the squad, but admitted he could not get the right words to express his delight.

Mohammed Ibrahim stated in monosyllables, “I really appreciate the efforts of everyone in this team. We are all united and committed. I don’t have much to say, but I am just happy to be in this team. I am just happy for this our victory.”

He further disclosed that his high level of excitement and happiness was caused by the fact that it was his first ever title as a footballer, and expressed hope that they will win the main championship as well.

“It’s my first victory in my life. That’s why I am very happy that we won this competition.
“For the AFCON, Insha Allah, we are going to beat all of them there. By the grace of God, the way we won here, although we did not start well, we will go there and do well.

We will finish well, Insha Allah,” the soft-spoken hard-working and battling box-to-box midfielder enthused
